About the Journal

HORIZON: Journal of Islamic Studies is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Institute for Religious Research and Development (LPPA) Summa Cendekia under the Decree of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia No. AHU-012522.AH.01.30.Tahun 2025. The journal is dedicated to advancing Islamic Studies through the publication of high-quality research articles, conceptual papers, and critical reviews that contribute to the development of Islamic knowledge and thought in local, national, and global contexts.

HORIZON places Islam and Muslim societies at the center of academic inquiry. The journal views Islam as a rich and dynamic intellectual tradition that may be explored from various perspectives, including theological, historical, philosophical, social, cultural, political, economic, legal, and educational dimensions. Accordingly, HORIZON welcomes contributions addressing a broad range of topics in Islamic Studies, including but not limited to Qur’anic and Hadith Studies, Islamic thought and philosophy, Islamic law, Islamic education, Islamic history and civilization, Islamic economics and finance, da‘wah and Islamic communication, politics and Muslim societies, Islamic cultures and traditions, as well as contemporary issues related to Islam and the Muslim world.

As an open scholarly forum, HORIZON encourages the exchange of ideas, research findings, and academic discussions that deepen the understanding of Islam and Muslim societies. The journal is committed to publishing original, high-quality, and impactful scholarship that contributes significantly to the advancement of Islamic Studies. All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, scholarly integrity, and intellectual relevance.
