About the Journal
Prodi: Journal of Qur’anic Studies and Exegesis
This journal focuses on Qur’anic exegesis and Qur’an studies through multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, critical, and contextual approaches. Its coverage spans classical to contemporary studies, employing philological, historical, sociological, philosophical, thematic, and integrative methodologies. The journal serves as a scholarly venue for the development of interpretive methodologies, studies of mufassir thought, dynamics of thematic interpretation, as well as the study of the “Living Qur’an” within modern socio-cultural contexts.
Scope
The main scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
1. Tafsīr and Interpretation Methodology
Examination of exegesis traditions from classical to contemporary periods; thematic, maqāṣidī, and hermeneutical approaches; and critique and comparative studies of interpretive methods.
2. Qur’anic Sciences and Linguistics
Research on the linguistic structure of the Qur’ān, balāghah, qirā’āt, codification history, and key concepts within ʿUlūm al-Qur’ān.
3. Living Qur’ān and Socio-Cultural Contexts
Studies on the practice, meaning, and interaction of communities with the Qur’ān in various cultural contexts.
4. Manuscript Studies and History of Exegesis
Focus on research on tafsīr manuscripts, philological studies, biographies of mufassir scholars, and intellectual networks in the history of exegesis.
5. Interdisciplinary and Digital Tafsīr Studies
Exploration of exegesis through new approaches linking the Qur’ān with modern issues such as science, gender, environment, education, and digital technology.
